Salutation Hotel

Reputed to be one of the oldest hotels in Scotland, the Salutation Hotel has been welcoming guests since 1699.The earlier inn had links to the Jacobite Rising of 1745, the two figures – an officer and a piper of the Black Watch – on the facade being reminders of that event. They formed part of an enlarged façade of the early 19th century which included the splendid window with fanlight above and a stone balustrade at the roof.
